About the Teacher

Nina Belle Durr,  a graduate of Washington County High School, Springfield, Kentucky, received the Bachelor of Music Education degree from Georgetown College and the Master of Church Music degree in piano pedagogy from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.   A  certified piano teacher through Kentucky Music Teachers Association and Music Teachers National Association, she also has a current Rank II teacher certification in music K-12 by the Kentucky Board of Education.  Her over 40 years of teaching experience includes piano, general music, and choral music in individual and group settings in her studio as well as in public and private schools and college. Since 2015, she has been an adjunct professor at Georgetown College, teaching individual lessons as well as liberal arts piano class. In June 2011, she received the Joy Carden Vanguard Award for teaching and using technology at the Keyboard Ensemble Technology Seminar. In June of 2013, she taught classes at the Keyboard Ensemble Technology Seminar at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma and has taught and mentored teachers each year since. Most recently she was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by Kentucky Music Teachers Association in 2021.
