First Day of the NEW YEAR of teaching!

Today started for me with my usual jazzercise class at 9 am.  Then it was home to drink my 2nd cup of coffee and get ready for lunch.  And then…….it was off to my studio to prepare for my first day of the new year.  Lots of folders to put together and check on music and keyboards, etc.  My 2 hours of prep time today was filled to the last second.  Then the classes began:  My adult student, Brenda came first at 2:30, then a new student, Cailey came with all smiles.  Next was my  first group of the week with three smiling young ladies, Ava, Emma, and Olivia. Elizabeth arrived before I had finished the group so we got started right away.  Then after Elizabeth came Abby and finally Briana!  All of the students were ready to start and had great attitudes for the year.  Most were given new pieces to begin work on for the fall recital.  After my last student left, I had paperwork to complete and clean up so I didn’t leave the studio until after 8:30!  Fava’s never tasted so good!  Now on to day two!

Registration for 2012-2013 Piano Lessons begins soon!

Very soon, you will find the updated studio policy and registration information for the 2012-2013 piano lessons.  I am in the process of making a few changes and as soon as I finish I will post the new information on the website as well as email the information to my current students.  Please note that I am hoping to get everyone registered by the 1st week of August so that I will know how many openings I may have to offer lessons to new students. Stay posted!

On Monday June 11th week two began with  a new group of students. Both weeks have been so much fun.  Enjoy the pictures I have so far!

PIANO CAMP AND SUMMER PIANO LESSONS!

The first week of piano camp was a great success!  Four students camp every day and we learned so much and had so much fun.  I had a wonderful student assistant (one of individual students who is starting high school this fall) and my son also came and helped a couple of days.  Our end of the week celebration was enjoyed by parents on Friday.  Thanks to all who helped make the week so much fun!

Week 2  begins on June 11th (that’s tomorrow!)  I have four officially registered and look forward to another great week.

Due to insufficient registrations, week 3 has been cancelled.

Postlude to Piano Camp

If you would like to continue your group lesson experience this summer, I plan to offer a continuation class on Monday and/or Tuesday mornings in July from 11 am- 12 noon.  These will begin the week of July 2nd and continue through July 24th.  They will be designed to continue in the book “Way Cool Keyboarding for Kids”.  We will briefly review what was learned during piano camp and then continue with the note reading and learning to play melodies and chords with both hands.  Some off keyboard activities will also be included to enhance the learning experience.  The cost for this 4 week session will be the same as my regular group classes- $96.  Please let me know at the end of your camping experience if you would like to enroll in this short session to continue the piano experience of your child this summer. I will also need to know which day will work better for you, so I can determine which day to offer the group class or if both days will be offered. (A minimum of 2, maximum of 4 students is required to offer the class.)  Looking forward to this possibility  for July!

CHECK BELOW FOR MORE INFORMATION AND CALL ME ASAP!

In addition to SUMMER PIANO CAMP I am also currently scheduling for summer lessons.  Please the info below for information and contact me ASAP!  Thanks!  Nina Belle Durr

New Classes in 2012!!

Nina Belle’s Music Academy is growing in 2012!  I plan to offer times for group classes for adults, children, teenagers and Kindergarten/Pre-School Age as the demand and time allows.

Call me to schedule a time to meet in person so that we can learn more about each other and so that you can see what I have to offer.

Currently I have a full class for elementary age students on Wednesdays at 3:15.

I have availability for new classes on:

Mondays and Tuesdays at 3:15

Thursdays at 4:45, 5:30, and 6:15 (Thursday availability begins in April)

 *********************************************************************
The group piano classes are small groups and will have no more than 4 students per class and will meet for 45 minutes once per week.  The annual enrollment/registration fee is $40 and the classes are taught in 8 week sessions.  You may pay for $180 for each 8 week session and save $12, or you may pay a monthly fee of $96.00.  (It is expected that students will continue beyond the 8 week session but the fees are based upon 8 weeks.)  In addition there will be materials that each student will purchase that will include up to 3 books plus an assignment book.  Please review the full policy on my web page.  Click on group piano lessons and then the link for the policy.  2011-2012 GROUP lesson policy
***********************************************************************
As an extra incentive to get started in 2012, I will reduce the enrollment fee for those who schedule group classes to begin in March or April from  $40 to $20 if payment for the 8 week session is made full!   That is a total of $32.00 savings!!

Academy “Spooktacular”!

Georgetown businesses sponsored a trick-or-treat event downtown on Halloween and NBMA participated with flair.  The bewitching teacher of the the academy offered treats to all who came by the studio and had her extra hand, black cat, trusty broom and of course Halloween music to help set the mood!  Enjoy the pictures!

Fall Performances- KMTA and Fall Recital

October was a busy month for the academy students!  Three students traveled to Richmond, KY at Eastern Kentucky University to participate in the the 2011 KMTA Piano Ensemble.  It included over 80 students from all over Kentucky.  They performed 3 selections in one of four different groups of performances.

Following the KMTA conference performance, students had their October Ensemble lessons and the Fall Recital.  All students prepared at least one piece to perform but most prepared two solos and two ensemble pieces.  The theme of the recital, of course, was Halloween and most of the music had Halloween titles or tonalities.  The recital was followed by our usual cookies and drink reception which was enjoyed by all who attended!  Check out the pictures of the  allstate and recital performances!
